Balance Wellness Acupuncture Clinic is operated by Jianmin (Jamie) Xu. She is a certified acupuncturist in Ontario and British Columbia, with fifteen years of acupuncture treatment experience in Canada. 
She obtained her medical degree from Tianjin Medical University in 1985 in China, where she studied both Western and Chinese medicine. After that, she also specifically studied acupuncture at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and at China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) in Beijing. She studied with many experts, physicians and professors in the field of Chinese medicine and its emerging therapies. After she acquired her M.D. degree she worked as a pathologist for fifteen years while also practiced acupuncture in China. Since relocating to Canada, Jianmin completed licensing examinations by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Colombia (CTCMA) and worked as a certified acupuncturist in Vancouver. She has plenty of experience for treatment determination based on symptoms differentiation and patients’ medical history. Since moving to Kingston, she has also worked in the field of cardiovascular sciences research at Queen's University during which her work has been published in numerous renowned medical journals. Jianmin is currently licensed by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
In summary, Jianmin has over thirty years of medical experience in disease diagnosis, treatment and scientific research. With her professional knowledge and expertise in both Western and Chinese medicine, combined with her vast experience in acupuncture, she will provide individualized and comprehensive care to her clients.
